Education Update – Schools Agricultural Challenge

On Friday 14th May 2021, I spent time with Pam Hillier-Brook and David Bruce as they judged the entries for the Agricultural Challenge for Special Education. This was postponed from 2020 when lockdown and schools being closed meant it could not happen and this year the schools were not able to meet in person but send their entries to be judged remotely. The challenge consisted of 8 categories and schools could enter up to five. Categories were agreed in advance each year by the schools and could form quite a large part of their curriculum. Education Update – April 2021

An education update from Jan, our Education Officer: There definitely seems to be more confidence with schools at present regarding outside visitors going in– long may that continue! I now have a stack of Covid lateral flow tests thanks to the government so can test myself regularly which is reassuring for me – and the schools. Partly due to bookings that have been rescheduled from the second and third lockdowns, I find my diary completely full for this half term, with 14 breakfast workshops, visits with Buttercup, Clover and Rasher and Cookery School sessions.
