Member Events
Our Member events are organised especially for NADAS members and offer social opportunities while providing outstanding opportunities for education within our community.

Recent events have included visits to local farms, countryside gatherings, specially arranged Cricket matches and a visit to the West Berkshire Brewery to name a few.

29th June 2022 at 3.30pm – Farm Walk at The Gourmet Goat Farmer
Welcome to The Gourmet Goat Farmer where the welfare of their beautiful animals is at the heart of the farm.  The goats live a healthy, free range life on the Marlborough Downs, grazing ancient pastures and socialising naturally as part of a herd.  The goats are primarily bred to produce delicious meat which is very healthy.  There is also a herd of British White cattle on the farm, with the remainder mainly down to arable.

There is a small charge of £10 for this event which will include light refreshments.

To book your space please contact the Showground Office on 01635 247111.

On-Farm Competitions
The On-farm Competitions have been one of the main historic bases on which the Royal County of Berkshire Show has been founded. The competitions have been designed to help promote better standards of food production. They still serve this purpose today by providing an opportunity for local farmers of Berkshire and the surrounding area to show their work and to learn from other farming set ups.

Typically, the on-farm schedule has comprised 39 different classes, including the Best Farmed Farm and Best Livestock Farm. Classes usually run annually from April through to September. The current pandemic resulted in no competitions being held in 2020 but the committee hopes to reinstate some if not all classes in 2021. More information will follow.

Ploughing Match
Visitors can enjoy the tradition of ploughing, featuring the latest state-of-the-art machinery, vintage tractors, working steam engines and the horse-drawn ploughs.

Ploughmen from across the UK, as well as young home-grown local talent, will be hoping to win top spot in each of their classes and qualify for the National Ploughing Championships.

The Ploughing Match returns for 2023 on Saturday 21st October 2023! Click on the link below to find out more.

Countryside Days
Countryside days offer a great opportunity for our members to come together and enjoy the great outdoors – Berkshire, South Oxfordshire, Wiltshire and North Hampshire offer wonderful landscapes and natural beauty which have to be seen to be believed.

We also hold Junior Member Countryside days giving children aged 8 to 16 the opportunity to experience outdoor pursuits such as air rifle shooting, archery, fly fishing, clay pigeon shooting and gun dog training.
