AGM – Information and Deadline Regarding Nominations for New Trustees

Dear Members,

We trust that all members have by now received in the post their formal notice of the AGM and a nomination form for new trustees.

In order to eliminate any confusion caused by communications from others, the existing trustees wish to make it clear that nominations for new trustees are open to all members, without exception and whatever their views.   Under the Society’s rules, there are four seats on the Board of Management reserved for those voted in by members, but we hope very much there will be more nominations, so that election to the Board is from a range of candidates.

Nominees must be committed to working for the best future for the Society, bearing in mind that it is primarily an educational charity. Becoming a Trustee entails being a legal director under Company Law and following Charity Law and guidance. Finally, a reminder that nominations must be received no later than midday on 14thOctober 2021 using the form you have been sent.  Once the list of all nominees is on the website, please use your votes (up to four per member) before the AGM.  The future of the Society depends on it.
